It introduces the method in plain language, describes the toolkit the practice uses, explains why an archive functions as a proof environment rather than a storage cupboard, and identifies The First Fracture as the first extended demonstration and stress test of the ideas.
Readers who prefer to start with the fiction can go directly to the Prologue.
